I am posting this for a friend who is awaiting USENET news access. Please reply to him at the address listed below. *************************************************************************** We have a problem which occasionally occurs on our Mac Plus. The Plus is about a year old, has 2.5 Meg RAM, connected to a LaCie 40 Meg, and has a recently installed System Saver Mac fan. Every now and then the Mac "hangs" while in Page Preview in Word 4.00A. During the last occurrence it had been on for about 40 min. when a Page Preview command caused the problem. Page Preview was set to two page mode and after the first page was displayed the screen went fuzzy. The second page had all its text mushed together and then the mouse froze. The fact that the screen shakes and shimmies (its Cosmic Thing) leads me to suspect a hardware problem. The image is not destroyed like it would be if the video RAM were being overwritten so I don't think that is the problem. Has anyone seen anything like this? Any ideas at all? _____________________________________________________________________________ Brad Hedstrom, University of Victoria, ECE Dept.
