As one of the members of the group that has been called "the future
of America", even though I did not know any of the Challenger crew
members, I feel anquish at the fact that their death was caused by
their trying to explore my future, as well as that of the world.

At the same time however, I am proud of those seven men and women,
one of which is directly connected with my future by sharing my chosen
profession, that of teaching, and find myself thinking more of the fact
that we must carry on with the exploration of the future.

We can not refuse to explore because of danger, we must instead be
excited by that danger to the point of wanting to overcome all danger
so that the future explorers will not have to worry with the things that
we are dealing with, and can reach out to, and beyond, their sights.

How can we stop it now?

"The more I learn, the more I know I have yet to learn."
