Don't know if there is a more appropriate place to ask for this information (I'm sure someone will point it out 8^) ). We're looking for a source of inexpensive, small thermal printers to attach to some public information terminals (not necessarily macs, so they wouldn't have to be Mac compatible). Star used to make some, but they're out of business. These can be quite low quality output, but it would be nice to only have to replace paper, not ink cartridges.
