Help! My Mac appears to be *DEAD* !!! I was repartitioning my hard disk and was rebooting the system over and over (maybe 5-8 times) to make sure the newly installed changes took effect and to switch system files between the standard System Tools disk and one of mine that has a minimal system, fastback and silverlining. I thought I was all set and had the "correct" disk driver setup and went to reboot the system from floppy to start the disk restore from floppies and what I get is the blank screen before putting up the "happy floppy" and then my monitor goes dark and I get this musical chime which is different than the startup chime. Can anyone tell me what is wrong, and what I have to do. I'm desperate! Oh yes, it's a Mac IIx with the apple hi-res color monitor and 8-bit video card for the same monitor from Apple. I have 8-meg of memory installed. I did try swapping the memory in banks a & b but the response appears the same (or so close that I'm not sure of any differences). Please Email to Carl@tardis.tymnet.com as I'm way behind on reading this news group. I'm also about to go on vacation next week and need some stuff from my mac... (although since it's on floppies, I can try to get it from another mac by then if this has to go to the shop.) Please tell me there's something that I can do. -Carl -- Carl A Baltrunas 408/922-6206|SMTP:carl@doctor.TYMNET.COM,carl@tymix.tymnet.com BT Tymnet (Network Services) |UUCP: ...!{ames,pyramid}!oliveb!tymix!doctor!carl PO Box 49019, MS/C41 |PDP-10 support: 36-bits forever! well, awhile!
