The subject says it all -- how do I change the SCSI id of an AST 4000 hard disk? I have one and it knows, by god, that it is SCSI id zero, which slightly conflicts with every internal SCSI hard disk in Apple's machines. I looked all over for a dip switch, knob, whatever. I found 8 pairs of pins inside after I disassembled the drive and looked at the disk itself, and tried jumpering a random pair in hopes thathis was the SCSI id, but all it seemed to do was to make SUM think it had zero blocks or zero size. The finder and other apps ran fine, though. Any help would be appreciated. Please mail me responses and I will post the magic required to the net.
