I saw this modem on the catalog of J&R Music World. It's a Zoom MX-2400 and listed at $99.95 which is a pretty good deal in my opinion since modems for Mac seem to be priced a bit higher than the PC modems. Now, couple of questions. Is this modem reliable? Yeah, I noticed that it comes with a 7-year warranty, but a reliable modem with 1-year warranty is better than a troublesome one with multi-year warranty, IMHO. Also, it comes with communication software Quicklink. How is this software? Finally, is there a better deal? Better modem at a comparable price, same modem at a better price, whatever. I need your input to make a decision. Yes, I live on peer pressure, constantly. Please reply via e-mail, I don't like to read a news group when I have to junk 90% of it every time I read it. Thanks a bunch. G'day, ...b.o.b...

When Zoom released their modem I received it at my computer store an tested it on my computers. It worked pretty well on the PC's and the Amigas, the Macs, however, it really didn't cooperate too well. They may have improved over the last year, however. Other than that, I just don't like the looks of it. It has a soked plastic shell and just looks - cheap. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | Consp22@Bingsuns.pod.binghamton.edu | SUNY-B Computer Consultants - | | Consp22@Bingvaxu.cc.binghamton.edu | Trying to keep the world safe from | |---------------------------------------| the SUNY-B Computer users. | | Consultant/Techie - World Computers |-------------------------------------| | Computer Cons. - SUNY Binghamton | Darren `Mac Hack' Handler | |-----------------------------------------------------------------------------| I don't know if I am going to heaven or hell, I just hope God grades on a curve
