Finally back on the net... My Mac IIfx (some of you may remember complaints about it being DOA - well, I got a new one) has this habit of freezing, deadlocking, crashing, quitting applications, &c... Sometimes when I start up, the finder just restarts itself (mounts volumes, redraws the screen &c) over and over again. Sometimes when I compile, I get "Illegal declaration error" or "Illegal token" in the THINK header files. (I haven't touched them, and when I retry it runs smooth) This almost never happens with applications/documents on the external SyQuest drive, which led me to suspect the internal 80MB Quantum. Looking at the drive, I see it has it's own internal terminators left, and no "T-shaped" terminators like some people have talked about here. Since the Mac IIfx requires capacitive termination as well, I wonder if this internal terminatino really provides this ? Or has the factory in Ireland missed out on this ? (Yes, it's made in Ireland, so it's not shipped across the world as someone suggested might have been the case) Replacing the Finder or System or entirely reinstalling doesn't help either. I really should concentrate on refining MacNetHack instead of swearing over incompatible hardware, so if anyone has ANY informatino on how to fix this, I'd be MOST grateful. If there is a solution, I'll follow up to the net (of course) h+@nada.kth.se Jon W{tte, Stockholm, Sweden, h+@nada.kth.se
