[comp.sys.mac.hardware] Mac Plus Power Supply

lucy@MoFH.UUCP (Gary J. Hamilton) (07/15/90)

Hopefully the comments about the destructability of Mac Plus power supplies
is not as founded as I suspect they are. I just got a Dove Marathon 030-16
for my plus, and it screams. The machine has 4 meg of memory in it, and
generates quite a bit more heat. Does anybody have any idea if there is an
aftermarket power supply, upgrade, or when it finally blows up, if one needs
to use the Apple product? I would like to install a (quiet) fan assembly as I
feel the heat being generated will expire something. I have heard that the
existing psu is incapable of supporting this much current passage.

The other item of note is the sound. (or lack of) This accelerator has no
support for the sound system, which negates the MacRecorder and the few meg
of error sounds I have. Anybody have ideas?
