The purpose of this posting is to correct a previous one that you've seen twice, once when I posted it and once again when a summary of responses was posted. # The two SuperMacs at work are perfect as far as I can tell. My monitor is # probably a very early unit (as is my hard disk with the stiction problem) # so I would be afraid to buy SuperMac again. What I meant to say is that I would NOT be afraid to buy or recommend this SuperMac 19" grayscale monitor. As a followup, I received a replacement monitor along with a replacement hard drive. The new monitor immediately exhibited the same white flickering lines at home. I'll be buying a power line conditioner and possibly swapping with my work unit for a while. If it turns out that I can control the problem with the power line conditioner, I'll conclude that the monitor is more sensitive to power drops than the Mac. At this point I still don't know what the real problem is. But let's just say that I live in a rural area in which other services are kind of substandard. Maybe the power is too. Shirley Kehr
