I previously posted about a problem with my serial line receiver chip on the Mac. The problem has been fixed. The problem also blew a chip on my modem, part MC14504. It's a level shifter used to drive the outputs, and the receiver on the Mac blew the chip by drawing too much current. I'd appreciate any help in piggybacking an order for this chip (costs about $1 - $1.50) onto any other order, to avoid incurring a $25 minimum order fee. If you can help, please e-mail me directly. Thanks. Joe Touch (touch@cis.upenn.edu) PS I apologize if I should have posted to a more general hardware newsgroup, but I could locate only ps2.hardware, mac.hardware, amiga.hardware, and the like on my bboard. If there is another more appropriate group, please let me know. Thanks.
