First of all, I'd like to thank all the people who responded to my first inquiries on the DJ+. But I need more help! From the information I've collected so far, it seems that the DJ+'s serial port can only go up to 19.2kbaud, which slows printing down to ~4 minutes PER PAGE (almost slower than an ImageWriter II). But, the parallel port can go up to 57.6kbaud (the serial speed of the DeskWriter). Printing speed increases to ~1 minute/page (about 3x faster than the serial). I'm considering the parallel way because it's (obviously) much faster. My options are the serial to parallel converters, such as the Orange Micro Grapplers, which I've gotten bad opinions on, and GDT Softworks' Paralink cable, which has the good opinions. Since both of these cost at least $50 and probably ~$100, I was wondering if there are cheaper, generic serial-parallel cables out there that would support the DJ+. If not, does someone have the pin-outs of the DJ+ parallel port so that I may (by some miracle) build one? Thanks!
