[comp.sys.mac.hardware] Monitor adjustments

lorner@csuchico.edu (Lance Orner) (08/02/90)

In conjuction with the 'Sore Eyes' thread, I have recently gotten a used Apple
RGB monitor and the view just doesn't seem as crisp as some other identical
montiors that I've used. I've done the horizontal and vertical adjustments
as suggested in the manual, and this solved any color problem I had, but
not the clairity.

It seems like when a pixel is energized, about a half of a pixel is energized
all around it, giving things just a bit of haziness around the edges. When
trying to read scrolling text that isn't really sharp, it can really
hurt the eyes.

Any suggestions? Also, what are all of the knobs in the back of the monitor
that you are not normally supposed to touch?
