My CD-Rom player (apple CD-SC) failed a few weeks ago. I took it in to have it upgraded (this was discussed here some months ago). After having a rather hard time convincing the ComputerLand store that there WAS a warranty extension, they replaced the mechanism and returned the drive to me at no charge. They did NOT, however, disconnect the fan. Did they blow it? Should I go back and insist that it be disconnected? Bruce Beare bjb@pyramid.com

There was, I think, some sort of tech announcement from Apple, to make the whole deal official. Maybe someone here can enlighten you. I noticed, after the fan thing became known, that Apple started shipping CD players with a big sticker on the side saying "NO FAN." --Adam-- -- Adam Frix via cmhGate - Net 226 fido<=>uucp gateway Col, OH UUCP: ...!osu-cis!n8emr!cmhgate!200.2!Adam.Frix INET: Adam.Frix@p2.f200.n226.z1.FIDONET.ORG
