[comp.sys.mac.hardware] Colour cards for SE/30

tmal@cl.cam.ac.uk (Mark Lomas) (08/24/90)

The documentation that Apple now supplies with the SE/30 suggests that a
colour video-card is now a supported option but doesn't give any further
information. Does Apple now sell video-cards for the SE/30 or are they
referring to third party upgrades?

Assuming that only third party upgrades are available, are there any companies
that sell cards that support 8-bit greyscale but could later be upgraded to
a 24-bit colour display?

I can recommend the RasterOps 264 for the SE/30. It worked
great for me (until I got a IIfx :-)

I recently purchased a Micron 8-bit card for my SE/30. This along
with a Magnavox 14" screen make a nice, inexpensive display.
So far, I have no complaints.
