I was doing a little exploring with Apple's hard disk setup utility and found that my Apple supplied 40 Meg drive had some space left over (something over 1 Meg if I remember right). Now, I really wasn't suprised by this (I knew my drive was a little more than 40 Meg in reality), but it got me wondering if I could coax my system to use this extra space. Can this be done? What I would really like to do is use that small extra space as an extra volume, but I would settle for adding it to the main volume. George -- / George D. I read an article about this in MacWorld (or was it MacUser) but it described in detail how to reclaim that unused disk space. I'm not sure if it's only for 40 meg drives or not. I'll reprint the article here if there's enough of a demand. I did it and got almost another megabyte! <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> <>William Perez <> Internet: perez@andromeda.rutgers.edu <> <>RPO 0043 POBox 5063 <> GEnie: W.PEREZ1 <> <>New Brunswick, NJ 08903 <> America Online: WilliWonka <> <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

George, I suggest you get SilverLining, from Cirrus (at yer local Egghead or by mail). It has some great features, including partitioning, password protection and the ability to use ALL of you drive (which Apple's software can't since it writes it to a 1-3 meg "swap" partition).
