 Hi net,
Well I have a IIci with a 105 Meg Quantum (3rd party addition), and
after someone else used it (they have one of thier own) they commented on the
slowness of the hard-drive. Well I found SCSI Evaluator V1.00 in the archives
and it tells me that the drive has an average seek time of ~25ms (it sometimes
gives 26 or 24). From memory the drive we bought should be much better than
this (it was meant to be cached as well !). Does anyone know whether the
results given by SCSI Evaluator V1.00 are reliable ? Has anyone evaluated
thier own IIci + 105 M 3rd party Quantum ? This drive also seems to go through
the annoying 'random seek grind' once in a while (it does it less these days).
I'm considering sending the drive back (it's a long way though !), does anyone
have any suggestions for further tests I could carry out ?
 				Thanks,
 				Michael

chma@groper.jcu.edu.au but chma@iceman.jcu.edu.au should work too.

PPS The drive is Formated with Silverlining 5.18 (I new I'd forget something!)
