If you need the memory now, then buy it now! There is a shop here in the Bay Area (Fry's Electronics) which sells 80ns Mac SIMMs for $69 each. I have seen them advertised at other places for around $59 each. I bought my memory upgrade earlier this year, and I paid $90 per megabyte, mail-order. I think prices are pretty good - you'll love the extra RAM. -- Sonny Shrivastava - via FidoNet node 1:125/777 UUCP: ...!uunet!hoptoad!fidogate!161!555!Sonny.Shrivastava INTERNET: Sonny.Shrivastava@f555.n161.z1.FIDONET.ORG

The Chip Merchant sells 80ns 1 meg simms (low profile) for less than 50 dollars. Very reliable, and cheap! ^^^^^ The above statement expresses the views of the individual and does not necessarily reflect the views or concerns of this place of origin. -- AARON SEGAL via cmhGate - Net 226 fido<=>uucp gateway Col, OH UUCP: ...!osu-cis!n8emr!cmhgate!124!1009!AARON.SEGAL INET: AARON.SEGAL@f1009.n124.z1.FIDONET.ORG

Very reliable, and cheap! Actually you can get 70ns 1 meg SIMMS assembled on good quality board with ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Gold contacts and traces can be bought for $50.00 a piece from MacTel (see ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ advt. in MacWeek or MacWorld). They accept Credit Cards and ship it by Fed Exp. for $9.75 for a pound weight of package. I order SIMMS from them for our lab. and got them in a day. Earlier I had ordered 80 ns SIMMS from Chip Merchant for $49.00 a piece (paid COD). I had problems with two of them. Basically the boards would not fit well in the slots and thus making insufficient electrical contact. I had to return them and get replacements. The chips we got from MacTel were assembled on better material than the ones from Chip Merchant. Disclaimer: I am just a satisfied customer of MacTel and a dissatisfied customer of Chip Merchant. I do not have any other affiliations with them. Baskaran Subramaniam. (bach@vax1.udel.edu)
