[comp.sys.mac.hardware] Cmos Vs Regular Simms

Walter.Blume@f444.n161.z1.FIDONET.ORG (Walter Blume) (09/19/90)

I'm planning to purchase a memory upgrade soon for my 1 MB Mac Plus. I am
planning to go to 4 MB. I am wondering if there is any advantage to buying
CMOS memory. The ads (MacWarehouse) say that they generate less heat, I
guess I am wondering if going to 4 MB with regular SIMMs will cause my Mac to
be
warmer than it used to be. Don't the four 256K chips generate just as much
heat as the four 1 MB chips would?

Thanks in advance
