Howdy, folks. I'm looking to get some users' feedback on laser printers with a >300 DPI output. In particular, I'm looking for something that is -- Under $8K (_well_ under $8K would be even better) PostScript compatible Not much larger than a LaserWriter IINT Hopefully 800 or 1000 DPI If possible, faster than 8 pages per minute (not essential) Faster than an NT (hopefully faster than an NTX) Anyone have any experience with an animal that fits all (or most) of these specs? I've heard NEC has some hardware that fits the bill. Anyone know? I've also seen ads for a system called the LaserMax 1000. Has anyone had any hands-on experience with this system? If so, I'd appreciate hearing your comments also. I know the LaserMax needs a controller card, which rules out using it on an SE/30. I'd rather go Serial, SCSI, or AppleTalk, but if a controller card is necessary, so be it. Thanks in advance.... -- Gabe Wiener - Columbia Univ.
