[comp.sys.mac.hardware] Which pin is really pin 1 on the 50 pin centronics SCSI connector?

Which pin is really pin 1 on the 50 pin centronics SCSI connector?

I just bought a CDC Wren IV drive for my Mac which I am placing an an
enclosure with a power supply. The next thing I have to do is make the
cable which connects the drive to the 2 gaping holes in the back of the
enclosure.

I bought some appropriate 50 conductor ribbon cable. I bought the
keyed 50 pin interface connector which will attach to the disk drive's
PC board. Finally, I bought two 50 finger female centronics connectors
which will attach to the back of the enclosure to allow me to hook
standard Apple SCSI interface cables.

Here's the catch...

When you look head on at the female centronics connectors I bought
the fingers are numbered as shown...

	--------------------------------------
	\ 25...............................1 /
	 \ 50.............................26/
	  ----------------------------------

However, when you look head on at the male connector on the SCSI
interface cable which I will use to connect the disk to my CD ROM
the fingers are numbered as shown...

	--------------------------------------
	\ 25...............................1 /
	 \ 50.............................26/
	  ----------------------------------

Clearly, one of these is wrong (flip one over to plug it into the other
and the numbers don't match!). Which is the right one? Since the
connector to the disk PC board is keyed, I cannot just flip it over if
I make the cable wrong.

Help!
