[comp.sys.mac.hardware] What kinds of Mac laptops are available?

I am interested in obtaining a Mac laptop or portable; however, I'm new
to this group and haven't a clue as to who makes them, how much they cost,
how long the batteries last, etc.  I would greatly appreciate any 
information or pointers to such.
