I plan to purchase a modem. I have recently noticed on a MacWarehouse catalog two economical modems: Power User and Supra. I called their technician to find out more about these two 2400 baud modems. He told me that the only difference in their functionality is that Supra modem has error correction feature which power user lacks. Is it a very important feature? After talking to him, I reread the ad and find that the Power User modem was advertised to have Advanced Error Diagnostic feature. Is it something similar to error correction? If you have answer to either of the above questions or want to comment on those modems as well as others in the same price range, please reply to me through mail. Many thanks in advance Z. Yin

It's good to have error-correction. May I ask you how much you are paying for either of these two modems? Practical peripherals has a v.32/v.42/v.42bis 9600 baud modem for $699 LIST. I have seen it advertised locally for $499 - might want to check it out because 9600 baud is nice!! -- Sonny Shrivastava - via FidoNet node 1:125/777 UUCP: ...!uunet!hoptoad!fidogate!161!555!Sonny.Shrivastava INTERNET: Sonny.Shrivastava@f555.n161.z1.FIDONET.ORG
