Mac IIfx incompatible software as experienced on an fx with --------------------------------- 1 FDHD 4 Mb RAM 170 Mb Quantum internal running SilverLining 5.18 Apple EtherTalk NB Card Apple Display Card 4x8 w/Apple Two Page Monitor 53 cm (21 inch) (this information is probably irrelevant) --------------------------------- Cricket Graph 1.3 Cricket Graph (any version up to 1.3.2 and beyond - phone to TechSupport) remedy: buy Kaleida Graph or Igor .. DCM MacTran Plus 3.0 (ERR 01, bus error when trying to load editor) DCM MacTran Plus 4.0 (the same, based on a phone to Tech Support) remedy: do not use the built-editor, but MDS Edit, Vantage, QUED/M instead remedy: buy an MPW-based FORTRAN like Language System's or Absoft's .. SuperPaint 2.0 (hangs up the screen when loading) remedy: copy the application to an older Mac, modify menu/menuitem/button "Options/Preferences.../Next/Next/Use only QuickDraw for screen rendering" and copy the application back to the fx - your SuperPaint 2.0 will work .. and lots of shareware software where no remedy was found --------------------------------- Roman Kanala, University of Geneva, in%"kanala@sc2a.unige.ch"
