Sorry if this problem already has been discussed. Configuration: Ethernet backbone with a Apple Internet Router to a localtalk net. Software: MS Mail server, Liasion soft bridge. Protocols: Macs running EtherTalk (some Phase-1 and some phase-2) and Macs running AppleTalk (phase-1, ver 52.0 and 53.0 tested). Problem: The mailserver becomes invisible from zones outside MS-mail zone after Liasion is configured. If we remove the Liasion Prefs file and restarts the Mac, the server becomes visible. Another funny thing is that BroadCast (ver 1.2 I think) running from the Ethernet side is capable to broadcast messages to a Mac on the LocalTalk side, but NOT the other way! The Ethernet-mac is invisible. Questions: Are the problems described above related to any phase-1/phase-2 problems? Maybe a FP-bridge configuration problem? What does Liasion do to the net when configured? Can anyone describe the differences (detailed) between phase-1 and phase-2 or refer to a TN or something? What is the effect when changing to AppleTalk phase-2? Can really ALL "old AppleTalk phase-1 nodes" be reached and able to answer? What I do know is that phase-2 supports more nodes in a net and that the protocols DDP, NBP, RTMP and ZIP has been modified, but I don't get it all together... I hope there is a simple way to get around the problem/s. +------------------------------------------------------------------------------ | Anders Ulfheden | USENET: ulfis@nada.kth.se | Royal Institute of Technology | Stockholm, Sweden -- +------------------------------------------------------------------------------ | Anders Ulfheden | USENET: ulfis@nada.kth.se | Royal Institute of Technology
