I recently bought Larry Pina's Mac Repair book, and ordered a power supply upgrade kit for my Mac+. The screen diagnosis software showed that my screen was a bit lop-sided, ie., some of the squares in the crosshatch screen were a bit wider than they should be. The balance test also showed the left half of the screen more compressed than the right half. When I received the upgrade kit, I installed all the parts. A repeat of the test showed the same problems. So apparently I've got some more parts to replace, but I don't know which. The book seems to say that capacitors are the problem. Should I replace the rest of the caps? There are two that are bulging a bit on top - C35 and C36. I guess I need to test each cap separately to find which one is bad? The problem is that the book doesn't seem to show the readings for those two caps. Anyone else have this problem, and was able to fix? Thanks for help. Peter D.
