Yet another question... This time regarding Interlaced output from the 8*24GC card, Apple convolution and third party alternatives. Apple's 8*24GC is supposedly capable of broadcast-quality timing when outputing 60Hz Interlaced RGB signals. Has anyone here ever seen the actual results of this output??? Also, I am interested in knowning more about possible alternatives to Apple Convolution. I know about Apple's video card utility, but it hogs 40% of the CPU time. I was told by a lady at SuperMac that the NTSC output from the SuperMac 24/PDQ was "Terrible", filled with flicker (I was suprised to see how much emphasis she put on the terms). Does the Mac IIci have the oscillator required to output NTSC timing (using the built-in video only) ? Is there a cure for "slot crunch" in a IIci when trying to fit in a 24bit 19inch display card, QuickDraw Accelerator, broadcast quality timing output, frame grabber, convolution (or other technique) along with an Ethernet card ???? The best solutions I have seen seem to use up 4 slots MINIMUM !!!! SCSI Ethernet adaptors have such degraded performance that I won't consider recommending them. SCSI frame grabbers have the lowest quality I have ever seen (i.e. ProViz junk....). I can just smell the IIfx around the corner (Apple's only 6 slot machine still being produced) ! Any ideas ? -- +----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Pascal Gosselin | Internet: Pascal@cam.org Applelink: CDA0585 | | Gest-Mac Inc.
