Our Apple color monitor powers down randomly. Once in May, once in Sept 4times in October. Shut down time is 5 to 20 minutes. The monitor hsa been on 24 hours a day for 3 years. Front panel indicator light goes out. When operating its low voltage supplies are apparently ok when unit is functioning normally. Any fix suggestions would be appreciated. /Bill Draper

I had the same problem a month ago. Replies I got from people on
usenet, suggested that the cutoff capacitor (a large red plastic box at
the bottom of the monitor) was dead. I have ordered one from SONY
($55 instead of $80 that Apple charges), I put it on and .... so far the
monitor seems to work ok!
