[comp.sys.mac.hardware] Mac Portables and apple.com

drg@mdaali.cancer.utexas.edu (David Gutierrez) (10/20/90)

The netnews reader ate this thread before I could reply, but excuse me
while I finish this up.

Yesterday I jumped on a post by David (O'?)Rourke at foo.apple.com in
which he said something about the Classic being the only 68000-based Mac
being pushed. Being the sort of person who steps on sleeping dogs
regularly, I posted asking if this was a subtle way of announcing the end
of the Mac Albatross, I mean Portable, or a new 68030-based version.
David posted an exasperated reply about people who think that "apple.com"
in the address means that the poster knows everything. And now, back to
our story...

No, David, I didn't think you were making a serious statement or
non-statement about the Albatross. It was intended to poke fun at you
seeming to forget about the Portable (maybe a subconcious wish?). It's my
fault you took offense; I didn't use the magic key sequence to indicate a
smiley. I'm a Mac user, I can never remember magic key sequences.

I *don't* think that people with "apple.com" in their addresses know
everything. In fact, sometimes I think - never mind (insert smiley here). Anyway, if I gave offense, I'm sorry. Let's kill this thread now. Sorry for the wasted bandwidth.
