I need input from people who have know about color monitors for the SE/30. I want to use the RasterOps ColorBoard 264 for the SE/30 with the Apple 13" RGB. So far, so good. First, how much RAM should I have? Will eight megs be enough, or should I try for 4 MB SIMMS and get 16 megs RAM? Second, how much does it slow down the SE/30? Do I try to put in the Dove MaraThon accelerator for the SE/30 (it's the only one available, isn't it?)? Is it worth it and does it help? Does it conflict with the RasterOps board or the 16 Mb of RAM? Also, does putting all this stuff inside my SE/30 stretch the limits of the power supply? And finally, just in case, what if I only used an 8-bit color board instead (like Micron Xceed)? I'd appreciate it if everyone with comments would e-mail me. Thanks. William Chan wkchan@athena.mit.edu
