Has anyone out there actually opened their Classic and checked out the power supply? I am holding off the purchase of several of them until I ascertain whether the power supply has the capability to be manually switched from 110V to 220V operation by moving wires, or changing jumper setings, etc. I would be very surprised if the Clasic factory actually had to make 2 different power supplies for world markets. I suspect (and it has been rumored here) that the 110V and 220V versions are essentially identical, with just a simple mod as postulated above. I realize that I may have to wait 1 year before anyone replies to this question, to allow their warranty to expire. This is fine. I'll still be here. :-) (That was the one advantage of the 90-day warranty. You didn't have to wait as long before fooling with your new computer. Bring back the 90-day warranty!) (((NO, just kidding. Please put away the flamethrowers...))) However, if there is anyone in the know concerning how the Classic power supply is designed, I'm sure we'd all like to know. (email copies of replies are appreciated. thx) -- Ken Stamm (ken@slhisc.uucp, sun.com!gotham!slhisc!ken) (212)341-3868 Shearson Lehman Brothers, 390 Greenwich St. 4W, New York NY 10013 Views expressed here are opaque to the above corporation.
