I have an old Jasmine DirectDrive-20 that works just fine with a Mac Plus, but if I plug it into the external SCSI port on a Mac-II, the machine hangs when it boots, sometime after the internal hard drive is mounted; I interpret this to mean it's hanging when it goes to mount the Jasmine. Usually we run the drive with no external terminator as the only thing on the Plus's SCSI bus; I tried both with and without the terminator on the II, but get the same results. Any idea what might be wrong? Before people say "why would you want to put an old decrepit drive like a Jasmine 20 on a Mac-II", we're swapping an internal 40 Meg disk for an internal 105 and need a place to stage the contents of the old internal disk so we can copy it to the new one; this seems easier than 25 or so 800k floppies. -- Roy Smith, Public Health Research Institute 455 First Avenue, New York, NY 10016 roy@alanine.phri.nyu.edu -OR- {att,cmcl2,rutgers,hombre}!phri!roy "Arcane?
