A representative from Iomega at a recent Campus Computer Fair showed me the Bernoulli Transportable. The machine looks very nice, works fast, and does not fall prone to hard disk crashes because of the mechanism and the media (no more hard platters, the Transportable uses a very high density floppy-like media). Question: has anyone had the opportunity to compare the two? Iomega is giving educational rebates that bring the cost of the Transportable down to about $700. Are Syquests as flaky as I've been hearing? It sounds like I've got a 50/50 chance of getting one that works! If so, Bernoulli technology sounds like the way for me...
