Two questions: 1) Will the Seiko 14" Trinitron work with the IIci on-board video? 2) Looking around in the Mac mags, I saw a reseller offer the 14" Panasonic PanaSync for $498 and listed the resolution as 1024 x 768 (or so...) So I was wondering... was the resolution a misprint or the 14" or the price? If not, then that is sure one dense looking screen image! Also, will the PanaSync work with the IIci on-board video? _____ Piper Keairnes ar4@sage.cc.purdue.edu (Purdue University)

On a somewhat similar note, is there some way to increase the on board video ram in a IIci so that you can drive larger monitors in 8-bit mode? I think the v-ram is the limiting factor: known: IIci will drive Apple 13" (640x480) in 8 bit. IIci will drive Apple Portrait (600x800) in 4 bit. 640x480x8/8192 = 300 kbytes 600x800x4/8192 = 234.375 k Okay now, say I want to drive a 19" monitor in 8-bit mode 1024x864x8/8192 = 864 k Could I get 'triple density' v-ram and solder it on the mother board (after my 1 year warranty of course) and do this, or is this all a bunch of garbage and I don't know what I'm talking about? Maybe I don't want the last part answered, -dave. davidp@calvin.usc.edu
