I hate noise when I work. I moved the IIci into another room and a bundle of cables comes through the wall to my desk which only has the keyboard and the Apple Full Page Display. A wonderful set up. A return to the good old quiet days of the original mac. Imagine my surprise when the monitor kept up this whine. I've put up with it for a while, but was wondering what the general opinion would be if I disconnect the fan. It's not very hot up here in Canada. What do you think? I've never seen a tv with a fan! Has anyone else tried this, or am I the only guy around who can't stand working with the annoying sound of fans and disk drives? shell@cs.sfu.ca
