I presently own a MacPlus that I am trying to sell (advertised on comp.sys.mac.misc) because I want to upgrade to a MacIIci. The main reason for the change is that I am using Finale, the music notation software, that involves a fairly large amount of number-crunching. I want to use the ci with a 2-page monochrome display since I don't think I need color, at least for a while. Now I have read things, here and there, about the cache card that is supposed to speed up the IIci since it seems that the built-in video somewhat hinders the performance. Since I am not a hardware guru (and far from it, I'm afraid), I'm asking y'all this question: will a cache card do me any good in the above configuration, or would I need it only if I were to use the color capabilities of the ci. While I'm at it, does anybody have a recommendation for a cache card. Apparently Apple was having some trouble with it lately. I think there are a couple of other manufacturers. What are they like? Thanks for posting or e-mailing replies if you have an answer. If I get lots of e-mail, I'll summarize. Didier Devynck devynck@brl.mil
