The Brightness cdev won't turn the brightness _all_ the way down.  That is but
one of the problems I have with the concept.

        That's not uncommon on any monitor.  I know that if I turn the knobs
on my standard Apple monitor (The RGB 13") all the way down, I can still read
text just fine...
