darshan@eleazar.dartmouth.edu (Darshan V. Bhatia) (11/05/90)

I have a MacPlus (platinum) for sale. It comes with two 800K drives (one
internal, and one external). It is sparingly and carefully used and in
EXCELLENT condition. I shall also throw in my original copies (with manuals)
of Microsoft Word (version 4.0), Hypercard, Terminal emulating programs etc.

I am asking $800 OBO for it. Please contact me by e-mail or by phone at:

Regarding $800 for MacPlus with external 800K floppy...
Sorry to say this guy, but that ain't a competitive
price anymore...
Just four weeks ago B4 the new announcements, several
local shops were selling NEW pluses for $650... Add
$150 for an external floppy and the only value-added
you have is the software... And the new stuff comes
with a full one year warranty...
The Mac Classic is now street pricing in LA for about
$799 with a Superdrive (1.4M floppy) and the new
512K Rom... And its video is a bit faster than the plus.
My best guess on a used MacPlus right now is about
$350 tops plus about $75 for the external drive...
Sounds brutal, but hey, everyone wanted Apple to reduce
their prices and they did... can't complain about it now.
Just as an aside, I spent $1700 on an original Mac 128K
and have added about $800 to upgrade it with a SCSI,
800K drive, 128K ROM and 512K of memory... Best I can
get for my machine right now is about $250... So it \
has depreciated 90% ( I wish I could write it off...)

Sigh...
