About 1 year ago our user group bought a used Dataframe XP60 HD (Supermac) It is working fine, but we did not get any documentation with it. One of these days I have plans to add a CD-ROM drive to the pass through. WE are running the Dataframe on our BBS. I am not real familiar with external termination and such but I keep seeing posts about it and am wondering what kind of termination the Dataframe has. Will I be able to add the CD ROM as the second in the chain from the Dataframe using the SCSI pass through? It is running off a Mac Plus at this time. The Mac Plus is being repaired or will (power supply went) as did the floppy drive. I saw the note about the problems with internal termination on a Hard Drive and the way the Mac Plus SCSI is implemented. So I am also wondering if what I want to do will even be feasable with the Dataframe and Mac Plus. Before I get a CD ROM I would like to know what problems if any I should expect. And if I need to purchase a particular brand that would work fine with the setup we have. It is possible that we will simply replace the Plus with a new Classic if our group can find the means to do it. So that is another factor in the equation. Anyway if any of the readers of this newsgroup are familiar with the Dataframe line from Supermac, and in particular the 60 Meger I am talking about I would like to hear from you via email. What problems have you had if any, with adding other SCSI devices to the SCSI port of the Dataframe? Can I expect to be able to add a CD ROM drive to this setup or will the Dataframe have the wrong kind of termination to allow me to do this. Everything is internal on the drive, so I assume it has internal termination. If this is so will it cause me trouble. The various notes I have seen about all this made me want to find out what I am in for before I go any further in the direction of getting a CD-ROM drive to add to the setup.
