A friend of mine just moved to Germany (to marry the girl of his dreams), taking his Mac SE with him. He is wondering if it would be possible to run a US Imagewriter II in Germany using a transformer to provide 120V. I have heard that printers will not work properly at the wrong power frequency (50Hz as opposed to 60Hz). Does anyone know if this is true? Thanks! Eben M Haber haber@micah.cs.wisc.edu

Does anyone know if this is true? Definitely wasn't true when I tried it. Just make sure no one ever forgets to use the transformer. -- Philip Machanick philip@pescadero.stanford.edu
