I have a Dataframe Xp60 that has been running happily on our User group BBS Mac Plus til the plus fried two weeks ago. I then ran it off my own SE/30 on a temporary basis til the BBS software got weird and then my networking software started corrupting files (Tabbynet). But that is another story (or is it related?). I took the drive to work to use it on a SE with an internal 20 MEG drive but the drive (which has a SCSI address of 6) will not allow the SE to boot when I try to run System 6.05 from either the 20 MEG drive or from a boot floppy. I can get both drives (the Apple 20 MEG and the Dataframe X60) when I use a system that is older than 6.05. What goes here? How come the Dataframe XP60 will work with 6.05 on my SE/30 but requires an older system before my SE will work with it attached. I get the message that my System may be damaged and that installer will fix. But I get that message from both my system folder when the SE tries to boot from the internal 20 MEG HD or from a 3.5 inch boot floppy. The Dataframe XP60 is empty it has no files on it so there is nothing on it like a system file to cause the conflict. Anyone have an idea of what is going on with this drive and why it does not like 6.05 on the SE but has no problem with it on my SE/30 Please send your commments by email. Thanks!
