Is it possible to obtain a Classic with a universal power supply WITHIN the USA? Please do not e-mail to me directly as this machine is not set-up to receive mail.

My understanding is that the US model cannot be trivially converted to higher voltage, even if there appear to be jumpers to allow this - some components aren't designed for higher voltage. Of course, there is always the SE, which has a decent power supply, and is not a huge amount more expensive. (Stanford prices: SE 2M/40M HD: $1336; similar Classic: $1120). -- Philip Machanick philip@pescadero.stanford.edu
