[comp.sys.mac.hardware] mountable drive won't boot

daveg@apple.com (Dave Green) (11/28/90)

After getting around what appeared to be an internal termination problem,
I have a scsi drive that will boot as single external drive or mount
as second drive with mac SE, but will only mount on a IIfx if I use
the SCSI probe cdev to force it to mount.

when in the cdev, there is not information on the drive, only a bullet.

it mounts with no complaints. what I would really like is to boot from
this drive. is this an issue with the driver? still a remant of termination
troubles? is a drive that will manually mount, but not boot a machine a
common occurence? what are the common causes...?

any ideas appreciated,
Dave
