I have an old DMP Printer from Apple that was used with my Apple II just before the Macs existed. The mecanical part of it is the same as the Imagewriter and according to the manuals, the commands to make it print are mostly the same. So it should work as an Imagewriter if I used a simple serial to parallel converter to connect it to the Mac. I tried it with a borrowed converter and it works. I could buy my own serial to parallel converter but thal would mean one more box plus wires on the desk and they are quite expensive around here (>$100).I could also build my own. It would be cheap but I would still have the wires and an uglier box. Anybody has a suggestion or a tip on where to find an inexpensive serial to parallel(Centronics) converter?
