The monitor must be able to handle the following bandwidths to functions
with the Apple 8-bit or OBV (on board video ci,si,lc) circuits:
Horizontal 35.000 kHz
Vertical 67.7 Hz
Also, the grounds for the r,g, and b signals aren't specifically chassis
or earth ground, they are normally signal return which insures the
proper output voltage is maintained. (actually, its more complex thann
that but this explanation will suffice ). If your monitor has signal
return it should improve the quality of your picture if these were
matched to the proper pins on the video card. Pin 3 on the video card
is the composite sync and you will need to match that up. The final
thing to make sure of is that pin 4 output from the video card is
grounded, this signals to the Mac video board that it is working with a
640x480 monitor. Keep in mind if you make a mistake wiring a cable you
can easily damage either piece of equipment. If you need more
information see Tech Note # 144: Macintosh II Color Monitor Connections.
