[comp.sys.mac.hardware] Swapping keys on extended keyboard

jxf@cis.ksu.edu (Jerry Frain) (12/07/90)

I purchased the 101-key extended keyboard with my Mac, and now I wish I
hadn't, because I can't stand the location of the control key. I've had
my Mac long enough that it is too late to trade in the keyboard for a
different one, or I'd opt for that.

Is it possible to exchange the control key with the caps lock key? They
are different sizes, so I'm not worried about physically swapping the keys
themselves, but I would like to at least remove the lock-down mechanism
for the caps lock, and then find what I need to do to tell the software
that the control key is where the caps lock used to be.

Anyone got any hints for me on either of those problems?

Thanks a bunch,

  --Jerry
