If anybody is using cards for real time color frame grabbing from an NTSC VCR, and/or using a card to send NTSC video from the Mac back to the VCR (with/without genlocking), I would be very grateful for information on their configuration, prices, praise, gripes etc. I understand that there are cards now that combine both frame grabbing and video output functions on one board. Even if you are not a user, but have info on this area, your input will be a big help. Thanks in advance. There is a group called comp.ivideodisc (=interactive video), which is probably a good place to ask this question (I've crossposted this reply). The shop I'm working at uses PC-based systems, alas, so I have no personal experience. However, I can point you to at least one low-end solution: ^^^^^^^ -------------------- MAC II TO NTSC COLOR VIDEO Computervideo's NTSC Encoder allows the user to videotape any presentation created on the Mac II and interface to a TV/monitor or video projector... Compatible with Apple and most 8 and 24 bit 640x480 video cards... Retail $395 (!) Computervideo, 215 Salem St., Suite 5, Woburn MA 01801 617-937-0888 (from ad, MacWeek, 12.4.90, p. 56) -------------------- The usual disclaimer, and all that... --Kathy P.S. My pointer to comp.ivideodisc should NOT be interpreted as a suggestion that comp.sys.mac.hardware was an inappropriate place for this posting. :-) -- ........................................................................... : Kathy Strong : "Try our Hubble-Rita: just one shot, : : (Clouds moving slowly) : and everything's blurry" : : clouds@ccwf.cc.utexas.edu : --El Arroyo : :..........................................................................:
