I was interested in the MactheKnife article in the last MacWeek. There appeared to be some rumour about apple releasing a "true grey-scale" printer next year or the year after. Now exactly what does this mean? will we get the capability of having true grey levels in each of the 300dpi dots in a laserwriten image? That would be excellent, but I suspect not the case. I have had great difficulty in finding a printer that is networkable, easy to use, reasonably prices and can do justice the excellent quality images that I can generate on the screen. NO, DO NOT FLAME ME AND TELL ME ABOUT THE LATEST COLOUR POSTSCIPT PRINTER YOU HAVE IN YOUR LAB. I NEED TRUE GREYSCALE, POSTSCRIPT HALFTONING LOSES TOO MUCH RESOLUTION. Does anyone know if there is a basis for the MactheKnife rumour? or is it hot air?
