Has anyone out there tried putting more than 8MB of memory into a MacII ci? I attempted to put in 16MB, with the hopes of going up to 32MB, but when I did, the System did very strange things. Specifically, it recognized 16MB of memory, but the system insisted on using up all of it--about 15 MB, with the rest going to the Finder. I couldn't run any applications, etc., and things just didn't work at all. Is there a limitation under Mac OS 6.0.5? Even when I booted up with a direct-from-Apple master disk, I had the same problem, Multi-finder or no-Multifinder. I really need this memory, and the graphics-intensive applications I'm running are groaning under 8MB and MultiFinder. Please e-mail; I will post a summary to the net.
