[comp.sys.mac.hardware] IIci questions summary

long@mcntsh.enet.dec.com (Rich Long) (12/18/90)

I recently posted some IIci questions and got some great responses via
e-mail. Here, then, is a summary. Thank you very much to all who responded!

Q: Is there an accelerator for the IIci?

A: There is one made by Daystar Digital that plugs into the cache card slot.
It comes in different clock speeds up to, I think, 50MHz.

Q: What about serial port Nubus cards?

A: They apparently work well with the Communications Toolbox, but many older
programs are hardwired to the modem and printer ports. Perhaps they could be
 hacked with Resedit.

 Q: Multiple monitors?

A: "Monitors" cdev lets the "logical" position of monitors be adjusted, so
different heights/positions are no problem. If one monitor is powered off,
though, it still is seen as part of the "virtual desktop", so windows and the
pointer can be moved into "dead space". Standard window zoom does not cross
 monitor boundaries.
