[comp.sys.mac.hardware] reading corrupted tapes

EXSGC@CUNYVM (12/28/90)

I am using an Apple SCSI tape drive circa 1988, with Fastback II and
Apple's tape utility. One tape, using the Apple utility, shows a
backup dated Jan 1 1904, and the backup has no files in it. When
I press the 'previous backups' button, I get a dialog indicating
that there isn't enough memory to complete the operation.
The question is this: Are there any utilities like Symantec,
ResEd, or PCtools that will read tape volumes?
